Important Changes For Website Owners

You may have noticed a couple of weeks ago we wrote an article describing how Google is now pushing websites to be mobile friendly by sending out messages to those that it detects are not mobile friendly.

Now however, Google has confirmed that from the 21st of April it will start ranking mobile friendly websites higher than those that have yet to make that very important move. This will see a drop in rankings for those who’s website is not responsive (even if you have SEO – Search Engine Optimisation)! The means what is already a very competitive and difficult result to achieve, will be even tougher as the requirements to get to the top of Google are constantly changing.

If you’re unsure whether or not this change will affect your website, all you need to do is use our simple mobile friendly online checker, which will inform you whether or not your website is mobile friendly. If you find that your website is not mobile friendly, please feel free to call our team on 01455 698 033 to start the very important process of updating your website.

Another heavy development that is in the process of being rolled out for how Google displays their search results is underway. Google will now start displaying a “Slow” icon next to any website it finds to be below the industry standard for how quickly a website should load.

This has a positive effect for those browsing Google as the user experience will be greatly improved by informing visitors not to visit a certain website it finds to be slow and unresponsive. However this can have disastrous effect for websites as potential visitors will now be straying away from your website until you can improve your websites speed.
